Tsinghua University

Established in 1911, Tsinghua Xuetang, was a preparatory school for students to be sent by the government to continue their education overseas in the United States. In 1912, the educational institution became the Tsinghua School. Twenty-three years later, in 1925 the university section was instituted. Resultantly, undergraduate students were enrolled. In 1928, the school name was changed once more to the National Tsinghua University. In 1929 the Research Institute was set up. Through years of wars and reforms the University has greatly expanded and evolved into what it is today.
